About
Our Story
Hello and welcome, I’m Mary (Jillian), wife to my husband R.J. and mama to three little blessings, Jemma, Henry, and Josephine. Though many first knew me as Jillian, I now go by my Christian name, Mary, after my patron saint, St. Mary of Bethany, whose love and devotion to Christ inspire me daily in my own vocation as a wife, mother, and homemaker.
Our family joyfully converted to Orthodoxy in 2022, and that journey has completely reshaped our home and the way we live. We’ve learned that faith isn’t just one part of life, it is the foundation of everything: how we raise our children, how we order our home, how we keep our marriage strong, and even how we dream about our family’s future.
Myrrh-Bearing Motherhood was created as a space for Christian mothers, both Orthodox and those seeking Orthodoxy, to feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. Here, I share the everyday rhythms of homemaking, homeschooling, and homesteading, always rooted in the life of the Church and the timeless call to raise saints.
My desire is to remind mothers that our calling is holy and beautiful, even in the most ordinary tasks. From managing the home to teaching little ones, to growing in faith together as a family, motherhood is a path to sanctity, and we are never walking it alone.
The Heart of The Myrrh-Bearing Mother
MBM PRESS
In 2025, I founded MBM Press, an Orthodox homeschooling resources company. Through MBM Press, I create planners, unit studies, saint studies, festal guides, and printables designed to help families live their faith more fully at home. My heart behind this work is to give moms tools that simplify homeschooling while deepening their children’s love for Christ and His Church.
My Vision
Whether through The Myrrh-Bearing Mother, MBM Press, or my podcast and YouTube channel, my mission is the same:
To share the truth of God’s Word and the original Church.
To cultivate a supportive online community for Christian mothers.
To weave together Orthodox faith, family life, and homemaking in ways that are both practical and grace-filled.
I believe that the home is the first church, and that when mothers are strengthened and encouraged, entire families thrive.
